In hot climates with little infrastructure, transportation or refrigeration, fresh foods rot fast. Turning a raw crop (i.e.) pineapple into pineapple juice lengthens shelf life, improves community health, reduces crop waste, provides income & boosts equity if inclusive.
Now through May, all gifts to help build the food processing plant will be doubled up to $5,000. Thanks to some generous donors, we are half-way to our funding goal of $193,700 to start construction of the Karagwe Pineapple Juice Processing Plant.
