About 40 ETI Partners gathered at the Eagan Community Center on May 29th to hear Rev. Dr. Benson Bagonza, Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tanzania; Karagwe Diocese (KAD). Bishop was greeted by his many friends in Minnesota including individuals, churches, universities and businesses. Gracious Msuya, Chair of the ETI Board, welcomed and introduced the partners and the next speaker: Kjell Bergh. Kjell offered insights on a changing Tanzania and then introduced Bishop Bagonza. Bishop shared stories and experiences with poverty, faith and development. He credited ETI as the “pioneer” who joined him and KAD Management in 2008 in the vision to build Karagwe University College – KARUCO. He encouraged everyone to view their education as a privilege and a tool to benefit and help others. He thanked everyone. Jan Hansen closed it out by thanking Bishop Bagonza for his vision, his determination and his unwavering support of the poor. Partners lingered to enjoy fellowship.
