The entire Karagwe community joins ETI, BE Design (architects) and ELPELA Construction in their excitement to stand up the pineapple juice processing plant. The land has been cleared for construction. Take a look at the “significance” of this large stump and don’t miss the comparative size of the implements in the hands of the laborers charged with tackling what looks like a stubborn plant. Part of the ETI model is to boost efficacy in Karagwe by helping support the purchase and maintenance of more effective tools and technology.
We are thrilled to see the site cleared and look forward to the finalization of the business plan that will outline how the plant should work. We also look forward to the hiring of a food processing consultant who can speak into specifics regarding plans for the plant (and eventually the larger Rural Opportunity Center – ROC). Green lights!
