Meet ETI’s newest intern: Maria Baklund, undergraduate student at the University of St. Thomas.
ETI’s newest volunteer began her internship on May 31st as she skillfully managed all things technology at the ETI “Building a Dream” gala. Maria Baklund is an incoming junior at the University of St. Thomas and recipient of the 2017 Board of Governor’s Engineering Scholarship which made it possible for her to attend UST. Maria is pursuing a Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Peace Engineering. She works concurrently in the Playful Learning Lab, a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) research lab at UST and is also a Resident Advisor for first-year students on campus. In her free time, Maria enjoys anything outdoors including hammocking, biking and rock climbing. She also enjoys swing dancing and building any puzzle she can get her hands on. She grew up in Lakeville, Minnesota and one day, hopes to work as an engineer for a nonprofit such as ETI. Maria is passionate about collaboration and service and as ETI’s newest intern, will do all she can to move plans for the Rural Opportunity Centers forward.
Welcome Maria!
